WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS

Supporting our gymnasts

The Royal Spanish Gymnastics Federation is one of the national federations that Iberdrola sponsors, in recognition for its trajectory and extraordinary achievements.

IBERDROLA RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS CIRCUIT

The company and the Spanish Gymnastics Federation have created this circuit to promote and make artistic gymnastics more popular in our country with an ongoing competition between Spanish clubs, which will help our gymnasts develop their skills and compete in the main international events with the adequate prowess.

The circuit was divided into three stages with six exercises each: two sets of qualifying days (13 and 14 May and 21 and 22 October 2017) and a final (25 November 2017). Participation was individual and each club could send up to six gymnasts of any age and category. The final of the first edition of the Iberdrola Circuit took place at the Ferrándiz Hall in Alicante, and the winners were Club Ritmo from Castilla y León, comprising gymnasts Carolina Rodríguez, Ekaterina Selezneva, Paula Serrano and Olatz Rodríguez.

THE IBERDROLA RHYTHMIC AND ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS LEAGUE

Iberdrola has also shown its support for this sport by creating the first edition of the Iberdrola Artistic Gymnastics League in November 2017. Ever since February 2018, a total of 24 gymnastics clubs have been competing to become champions in all three stages in Gijón, Mallorca and Manresa. Ultimately Club Egiba were the winners of the Iberdrola Artistic Gymnastics League final, which took place on 16 June 2018.

There is now also a Rhythmic Gymnastics competition. The Iberdrola Rhythmic Gymnastics League began on 24 March 2018 at the Multifunction Hall in Guadalajara and will include three stages. The Ritmo, Mabel and Gimnástico Almendralejo clubs are the most likely candidates to win the League. The final stage will be taking place on the weekend of 27 and 28 October.

2017 RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS WORLD CUP

The championship was held for the second year running at the Guadalajara Sports Centre on 2, 3 and 4 June 2017 to test the world's finest rhythmic gymnasts.

Iberdrola was lead sponsor of this international event —the most important one— in which a total of 41 individual gymnasts and 14 teams from 24 countries took part.
