The aim of Iberdrola's supplier awards is to incentivise and recognise excellence, sustainable development, quality, internationalisation, innovation, corporate social responsibility, job creation and the prevention of workplace risks.
2017 SCOTTISHPOWER SUPPLIER AWARDS
In the last two years, the British subsidiary of the company is going through a record investment phase, during which it has awarded contracts worth £5,000 million. In total, it has awarded contracts to over 3,500 suppliers, some of which received an award on the 9th of November during a special event held at the new headquarters building of ScottishPower in Glasgow.
Keith Anderson, ScottishPower's Chief Corporate Officer, said: "To deliver some of our most ambitious projects ever, we are working with a wide range of specialist companies, and supporting tens of thousands of jobs. From large multi-national organisations to small local businesses, each supplier provides a unique service that is critical to delivering our investment plans".
ScottishPower gave out 16 special recognition awards in total to the companies and workers who have been helping to deliver the variety of upgrades and improvements across the UK. Award winners in the different categories were: Neary Construction in the Health and Safety category, Deutsche Windtechnik in Delivery of Services, Hellenic Cables in Supply of Goods, Equipment or Materials, Systal in Corporate support & IT, in Best Small or Medium enterprise, Warmer Energy Services as the Top SME — in relation to its energy efficiency measures, valued at £8 million only for this year —, Royal Haskoning DHV in Customer Service, Indra in Innovation and, finally, Forth Valley University in the Corporate Social Responsibility category.
SPAIN - 2017 SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Iberdrola presented the 2017 Spanish Supplier of the Year Awards at the Iberdrola Tower building on 17 October, with the purpose of incentivizing and recognising the employment of women and young persons, respect for the environment, innovation and technological development, social commitment, internationalisation, diversity and equal opportunities and the prevention of occupational risks in the corporate management practices of its suppliers.
These Awards are divided into 10 categories:
The company from Biscay, Arteche, received the Special Award for the Top Supplier of the Year for its proven track record and vast experience in working with Iberdrola, offering high levels of quality, reliability and flexibility, while developing joint solutions and working hand-in-hand with Iberdrola in its international expansion processes.
The Basque companies Ingeteam and Ariadna were the award-winner and finalist, respectively, in the Innovation and Competitiveness category. The company from Madrid, Eurest Colectividades, received the award in the Diversity and Equal Opportunities category, while Konecta BTO, a company from Andalusia, was the finalist.
Moreover, the company from Navarre, Tesicnor, received an award in the Prevention of Occupational Risks, Health and Safety category; Tecnatom was the finalist in this category. The Social Corporate Responsibility award was given to the company from Valencia, Ibérica de Aparellajes, and Ecoespacio, a company from Valladolid, was the finalist.
The Job Creation and Youth Employment award was given to the company from Madrid, GMS Management Solutions and the company from Galicia, Conelec, was the finalist in this category. Likewise, the company from Salamanca, Gedelsa, received the award in the Internacionalisation category and the company from Biscay, Boslan, was the finalist.
The award in the Non-Energy Services category was given to Tribal Worldwide and Varona Leds was the finalist. Both companies are from Madrid. The award in the Energy Services category was given to the Portuguese company, Socorpena and the company from Galicia, Cefer, was the finalist. Finally, Inael, a company from Toledo, received the award in the Best Equipment Supplier category, in which the company from Biscay, Fanox, was the finalist.
UNITED STATES - 2017 SUPPLIER RECOGNITION EVENT AVANGRID
AVANGRID named a Texas-based supplier of wind turbine components as its 2017 Supplier of the Year at an event that celebrated the achievements of business partners across a wide range of categories. NGC Renewables was one of seven honorees at AVANGRID's 2nd Annual Supplier Awards Event, held Sept. 12, 2017 at Anthony's Ocean View in New Haven, Connecticut. Approximately 250 suppliers and AVANGRID employees from coast to coast turned out to attend the awards event.

In addition to Supplier of the Year, six other awards were presented, representing a broad range of shared values. They were:

- Environmental Stewardship: True Blue Environmental Services (Wallingford, Connecticut).
- Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility: Par Electrical Contractors, Inc. (Kansas City, Missouri).
- Supplier Innovation: Simple Energy (Boulder, Colorado).
- Diverse Supplier: SAI Systems International Inc. (Shelton, Connecticut).
- Storm Excellence: On Target Utility Services (Gardiner, Maine).
BRAZIL - ELEKTRO SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR AWARD 2017
On May 25, Elektro held the 13th edition of its Supplier of the Year Award which was attended by over 300 guests in Campinas. This year they discussed best practice and general security concerns. During the ceremony, which was mainly attended by material and service suppliers, special mentions were awarded for innovation, sustainability and security.
The winners have been V2 Indústria e Comércio de equipamentos eletrônicos, Ltda. in the category of Special and Measuring equipment; Incesa indústria de componentes elétricos, Ltda. in the category of Materials and Tools; LET Linhas elétricas de transmissão inside the category of Network Services and Substations; Regispel indústria e comércio de bobinas S/A in the category of Operational and Administrative Services; Premier IT Global Services Ltda. in the category of Information Technology; Cordeiro Cabos Elétricos in the category of Transformers, Cables and Poles; Banco Itaú in the category of Institutional finances; Arborea planejamento projeto e construções Ltda. in the category of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises and, finally, Gigtech ferramentaria e usinagem Ltda., Indel bauru indústria eletrometalúrgica Ltda. and Provider soluções tecnológicas Ltda. in the category of Quality management.

The winners are: Navantia Astilleros FENE and Puerto Real as the Best Equipment Supplier; Burns & McDonnell as the Best Supplier of Energy Services; Allianz as the Best Supplier of Non-Energy Services; SPIE ENS in the category of Quality and Service Response; Black and Veatch, in the category of Health and Safety; INECOL, in the Environmental category; Romagnole Productos Eléctricos, in the CSR category; Lithium, in the category of Competitiveness and Innovation; ILUNION Facility Services, in the Diversity and Equal Opportunities category; and, finally, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems has received the award for the Best Supplier of the Year.

For the first time, Iberdrola Mexico has given the awards that recognise and value the commitment and solid business management practices of all of the company's suppliers throughout the year. A hundred people attended the event, including executives and workers of the Mexican subholding, in addition to representatives of suppliers from different sectors.
The winners are: Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, as the Best Equipment Supplier; Sapco Energía S.A. de C.V., as the Best Supplier of Energy Services; CFE CPTT, in the category of Quality and Service Response; Teléfonos de México S.A.B. de C.V., as the Best Supplier of Non-Energy Services; Boyle Energy México S. de R.L. de C.V., in the area of Competitiveness and Innovation; Bes Trader Construction México, in the category of Health and Safety; Holcim, for its Social Responsibility performance and, finally, Inecol, in the Environmental category.
