To guarantee appropriate coordination between the different Foundations, the Iberdrola group Foundation Committee was created in June 2014, which is responsible for establishing an appropriate framework for collaboration, to coordinate activities of general interest and corporate responsibility with which they are entrusted. Currently the new 2022-2025 Master Plan is in effect for all the group foundations. Through their Master Plan, the foundations have updated their mission, vision and values to include contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) among their aims and principles.

  • In June 2014, the Board of Directors of Iberdrola approved a change in the Corporate Governance system in relation to the different group Foundations. This change means that each of the subholding companies is connected to organisations of a foundation nature, separate from the company structure, but responsible for executing the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy designed by the Board of Directors of Iberdrola S.A.

The main objective of the Foundations Committee is to advise within the Company, without executive duties, to provide support and advise the chairman of the Board of Directors on drawing up and executing the Management Plan that must be applied by the foundations or other organisations of a foundational nature that group companies have entrusted with performing activities of general interest and corporate social responsibility. This committee may also provide support and advice in relation to the planning, design and execution of the Iberdrola group's corporate social responsibility strategy.

This Committee defines the general strategy of the Iberdrola Foundations, to promote social actions that promote sustainable development based on selfless solidarity.
