PHOTOVOLTAIC PLANT PUERTOLLANO II
The Puertollano II innovation project to product green H2 from 100% renewable sources consists of a 100 MW photovoltaic solar plant. The facility is equipped with state-of-the art technologies, including bifacial panels, which increase production with their two light-sensitive surfaces, and string inverters, which improve performance and make better use of the available surface area.
BATTERY
The project features a 5 MW lithium-ion battery system, with a storage capacity of 20 MWh, which improves plant manageability and optimises control strategies.DEDICATED UNDERGROUND POWERLINE
The photovoltaic plant and the battery are connected to the electrolyser through a dedicated underground power line to optimise the use of renewable energy and minimise its environmental impact.ELECTROLYSER
A 20 MW electricity-powered polymer electrolysis system with the capacity to produce around 360 kg/hour of hydrogen. The Green Hydrogen is produced by electrolysers powered by the energy produced by the photovoltaic plant and the battery energy storage system, reducing emissions and opening the way to the electrification of energy-intensive industrial sectors.
H2 BUFFER
The 100% renewable hydrogen product is stored in a small intermediate tank for delivery to the Fertiberia industrial process.FERTIBERIA PLANT
This innovation project is an ambitious initiative to decarbonise fertiliser manufacture, which is a key industrial process. The investment will improve industrial processes and make them more sustainable, reducing emissions by producing and consuming green hydrogen and improving the yield of the processes involved.
