The Executive Chairman of Iberdrola, Ignacio Galán, took part in the inauguration of the new British Consulate offices in Torre Iberdrola (Bilbao), where the company has its headquarters, together with the UK Ambassador to Spain, Hugh Elliot.
The event was also attended (in the photo) by Jose Luis Briceño, Director of Trade and Investment and Honorary Consul; Derek Doyle, former UK Consul in Bilbao, and Mikel Antón, Director of European Affairs of the Basque Government, among other authorities.
Over the last 15 years, Iberdrola has invested more than £30 billion [¤35.5 billion] in the UK in infrastructure, equipment, supply chain, communities and employees.
The Iberdrola Group is currently building what is believed to be the second largest offshore wind farm in British waters. East Anglia Three, of 1,400 MW, which in turn forms part of the East Anglia Hub offshore macro-complex. This impressive development brings together three projects with a total installed capacity of 2,900 MW: East Anglia One North, East Anglia Two and East Anglia Three, in addition to the 714 MW East Anglia One plant currently in operation.
