Our main business areas
-
Offshore wind Within Iberdrola's renewables portfolio, offshore wind energy is the second most important technology, thanks to the strong growth experienced in the last year.

-
Green hydrogen In its commitment to leading the energy transition, Iberdrola is spearheading the development of green hydrogen with more than 60 projects in eight countries.

-
Onshore wind Onshore wind power has been a hallmark of Iberdrola for decades, with almost 20,000 MW of installed capacity worldwide.

-
Smart grids The bi-directionality, flexibility, digitalisation and automation of smart grids make possible a new interconnected map that responds to the needs of energy users and producers.

-
Solar power As part of the plans to increase installed capacity, solar PV generation will be supported by significant investments until 2025.

-
Hydroelectric power With more than 14,000 MW of installed capacity worldwide, the group is committed to this type of plant, which is essential for the energy transition.

Our facilities
We lead the energy transition towards a sustainable model through our renewable energy facilities, smart grids, and energy storage to offer our customers the most advanced products and services. This facilities map provides the latest quarterly update of installed capacity for all generation technologies present in the group and our production, as well as other operational data.
Our flagship projects, milestones in terms of size and commitment to innovation
-
East Anglia Hub: our largest offshore wind project worldwide East Anglia Hub, which will bring together three projects with a total installed capacity of 2,900 MW: East Anglia ONE North, East Anglia TWO and East Anglia THREE.

-
Tâmega: one of the largest hydroelectric projects developed in Europe in the last 25 years The giga battery will involve the construction of three dams and three power plants (Gouvães, Daivões and Alto Tâmega) with a combined capacity of 1,158 MW. And the wind farms will reach 300 MW.

-
Francisco Pizarro, the largest photovoltaic project in Europe With its 590 MWp of installed capacity, it will supply 334,400 households per year with clean energy and will become the largest photovoltaic plant in Europe.

-
Oitis, our largest onshore wind project in Latin America Comprising 12 wind farms, the new development will have a total installed capacity of 566.5 MW, the company's largest in Latin America and the second largest in the world.

-
Vineyard Wind 1, our first offshore wind project in the USA Vineyard Wind 1 will have a capacity of 800 MW, with which it will be able to meet the energy needs of more than 400,000 households.

OUR INVESTMENT PLAN
At Iberdrola, we are committed to a record Strategic plan of 47,000 million euros during the 2023-2025 period, based on more electricity grids and selective growth in renewables, to promote a safe, clean, and competitive system that will allow us to accelerate the energy transition.
Thanks to this Plan, we will be able to make around 12,000 new hires by 2025, supporting more than 500,000 jobs by 2030 along our value chain. In addition, we will achieve the Net Zero target in Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2040.
