Iberdrola has spent 25 years anticipating the electrification of the economy, relying on clean energy to meet electricity demand, which is growing at an exponential rate. Today, we are the largest integrated electricity company in Europe and the second largest worldwide.
Our value proposition is built on strong generation capacity, with 58,343 MW of installed capacity and €58 billion of planned investment through to 2028 as set out in our Strategic Plan 2025–2028, delivered through an innovative and sustainable model.
Electricity: green supply and digital management
Simplicity and sustainability are two of the pillars underpinning our service for residential customers. As of the end of 2025, the Group has 38 million supply points worldwide consuming energy generated from clean sources, supported by smart solutions that make our customers’ day-to-day lives easier.
What’s more, we offer a range of solutions to meet household electricity needs, helping customers install charging points for electric vehicles, enhance their solar self-consumption capacity and improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
Tailored electricity plans
Through our different retail companies, Iberdrola offers fixed and variable electricity tariffs, providing flexibility and freedom of choice for residential customers. Each household can choose a stable pricing option to protect against wholesale market volatility, or an indexed option designed to maximise savings by taking advantage of lower-cost periods to consume electricity. Long-term green energy purchase agreements (PPAs)
Long-term green energy purchase agreements (PPAs)
Iberdrola is a leader in PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements), long-term contracts for the purchase of clean energy at a pre-agreed price between a renewable developer and a corporate consumer – typically companies with high electricity demand – or between a developer and a retailer that will resell the energy. Through these agreements, companies can use renewable energy in their operations and reduce their carbon footprint.
Other market risk management solutions and tailored supply
Electricity is one of the main raw materials used by large industries. Being able to forecast its price and control the negative effects of market volatility is a core business strategy to meet operational and financial objectives. Iberdrola offers products capable of adapting electricity supply and creating tailored solutions to help mitigate market risks.
Contracts for difference
As an alternative to PPAs, contracts for difference are also available. These agreements, backed by governments, guarantee a fixed strike price and settle the difference with the market price. This mechanism provides certainty for both buyer and seller and protects them from market volatility.
ETaaS (Energy Transition as a Service)
Another relevant concept is ETaaS (Energy Transition as a Service), which supports changes in our customers’ energy demand. We therefore offer a range of services covering the entire lifecycle of the decarbonisation process, enabling our commercial and industrial customers to meet their environmental targets and become key players in the electrification of their demand.
