Ignacio Galán wins the award for Financial Personality of the Year for his key role in the international growth of Iberdrola

Iberdrola group Chairman, Ignacio Galán, has been awarded the Alfonso de Salas prize for Financial Personality of the Year for his key role at the helm of the company. This prize is the most prestigious of those awarded annually by the Spanish newspaper El Economista to recognise the work of the top business people and Spanish companies during the year.

Galán received the award from the third vice-president of the Spanish Government and Minister of Economic Affairs and the Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, for his contribution to the international growth of Iberdrola, which has become a key player in the energy market at global level. In addition, the stock market value of the company has increased five-fold, with a focus on sustainability.

During the presentation ceremony for these awards, held in Madrid, Ignacio Galán highlighted the business vision of the company: “The 40,000 Iberdrola staff carry out their work with the aim of creating value for society and for the shareholders. This is the mission that we companies have, and it is the source of our decision to use our earnings to undertake a €75bn investment programme”.
