Iberdrola to achieve zero emissions in Europe by 2030

More than 20 years ago, Iberdrola began a deep transformation of its energy model towards a sustainable, safe and competitive one that would enable it to tackle the fight against climate change. During this period, the Group has invested more than 100,000 million euros, thanks to which it has managed to generate a total annual impact on employment of nearly 400,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs around the world and contribute more than 31,000 million euros annually to the global GDP.

Thus, thanks to the growing share of renewables in the generation mix, the Group's emission-free capacity and production is increasing, while emissions intensity is decreasing every year, putting us on track to achieve zero emissions in our generation plants and own consumption by 2030, as well as in all our operations by 2040.

Below, you can see the data showing the evolution of the company's decarbonization process; emission-free production and capacity, etc.
