Avangrid boosts grid reliability and resilience with investments in more than 40 substations

Avangrid, Iberdrola’s US subsidiary, has carried out work at more than 40 substations in Maine, New York and Connecticut so far this year to strengthen electricity network reliability and resilience and meet growing demand.

These investments have enabled a range of projects, from major substation rebuilds and equipment replacements to flood protection measures, automation upgrades and capacity expansions.

Avangrid has also invested in protection, communications and automation technologies that enable the network to be monitored and operated more efficiently.
