ScottishPower, the Iberdrola Groups’s UK subsidiary, is making steady progress on the development of the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm, one of the most significant renewable energy projects currently under construction in the United Kingdom.
With a total investment of approximately €4.5 billion, the project reinforces the Group’s commitment to offshore wind as a strategic pillar of the energy transition, as well as to the deployment of infrastructure that supports a more secure, competitive and sustainable energy system.
As part of the project, the UK’s Secretary of State for Energy, Michael Shanks, visited the facilities where the offshore substation foundations are being manufactured, highlighting the role of clean energy in driving skilled employment and supporting the country’s industrial communities.
With an installed capacity of up to 960 MW, East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm will generate enough clean electricity to power nearly one million homes, making a significant contribution to the electrification of the UK economy.
