Iberdrola inaugurates the lighting of the Royal Palace Chapel as the first milestone of the company’s 125th anniversary

Iberdrola has launched the programme of activities to mark its 125th anniversary with the renovation of the lighting system in the Chapel of the Royal Palace of Madrid, one of the great treasures of Spain’s historical and artistic heritage, because of an agreement between Iberdrola and Patrimonio Nacional (National Heritage).

The new lighting was inaugurated by the President of the Fundación Iberdrola España, Jaime Alfonsín, and the President of Patrimonio Nacional, Ana de la Cueva.

This event marks the beginning of a series of lighting projects for iconic buildings and monuments that the company will carry out throughout Spain in 2026.

This inauguration forms part of the extensive and diverse programme designed for 2026 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Iberdrola Group. The programme ranges from art exhibitions, music festivals and technology showcases to social events.
