Iberdrola invests over €13.7 millions in the RIIO-T3 plan to modernise Scotland’s grid

ScottishPower Energy Networks, the distribution business of ScottishPower, a subsidiary of the Iberdrola Group in the UK, has launched RIIO-T3, programme worth more than €13.700 millions, aimed at modernising and strengthening the electricity network across central and southern Scotland over the next five years.

The investment will fund the construction of 12 new primary substations and the replacement of more than 570 km of power lines, creating 1,400 direct jobs and supporting over 11,000 additional jobs across the supply chain.

These upgrades will expand network capacity, enhance Britain’s energy security, reduce congestion costs and support the transition to electrification.
