Iberdrola has today opened applications for the 2026–2027 academic year of its International Master’s Scholarship Programme. In the year marking its 125th anniversary, the company further strengthens its longstanding commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting academic excellence in support of a safe, efficient and sustainable energy model based on electrification.

Now in its 17th edition, the programme is aimed at university graduates and final-year students seeking to develop the skills required to address the challenges of a strategic sector undergoing rapid transformation.

Through this initiative, Iberdrola supports specialisation in key disciplines essential to the electrification of the economy, including engineering, business administration, computer science, electricity networks, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digitalisation, data analytics, mathematics, and information and communication technologies, among others.

Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to pursue master’s degrees at nearly twenty leading universities and technology institutes. The academic offering includes internationally renowned institutions such as the University of Edinburgh, the University of Strathclyde and Imperial College London in the United Kingdom. In Spain, participating institutions include the Universidad Pontificia Comillas, the Universidad de Salamanca, the Universidad del País Vasco, the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Universitat Politècnica de València, among others.

The application period will remain open until 29 March 2026. Further details on eligibility requirements and the application process are available on the programme’s official website: International Master's Scholarship Programme 2026.

Upon completion of their studies, scholarship recipients will be eligible to apply for internships and job vacancies across the countries in which the Iberdrola Group operates, depending on their academic background and area of specialisation. In this way, the programme combines top-tier academic training with tangible career opportunities at Europe’s largest electricity company by market capitalisation and the second largest worldwide.

Since its launch nearly two decades ago, the initiative has supported numerous young professionals in advancing their careers through master’s and postgraduate studies or research at prestigious international institutions. The programme has played a key role in fostering a new generation of highly qualified professionals prepared to lead a strategic, innovative sector offering significant long-term growth opportunities.
