Neoenergia, subsidiary of the Iberdrola Group in Brazil, has inaugurated the Aneel Museum of Energy Efficiency in partnership with Brazil’s National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel). Located in Brasília, the new educational and cultural centre is dedicated to raising public awareness of electricity, energy efficiency and sustainability.
Neoenergia Brasília has invested around 5.3 million reais in the museum and its first year of operation through the Energy Efficiency Programme regulated by Aneel.
Designed as an interactive learning space, the museum is aimed primarily at students, teachers and researchers, while also welcoming the general public. It is expected to receive more than 28,000 visitors each year and provide training for around 13,000 participants annually through its Maker Space, which focuses on robotics, hands-on learning and experimentation.
The museum features 20 interactive exhibits exploring topics such as physics, magnetism, optics, the evolution of the electricity sector, renewable energy and environmental conservation. Through these exhibits, it aims to inspire critical thinking among younger generations and encourage more responsible energy use.
The project reinforces the Iberdrola Group’s commitment to education, innovation and public awareness as key drivers of a more efficient and sustainable energy future.
