Iberdrola promotes innovative solutions for sustainable management in the United States

Avangrid, a subsidiary of the Iberdrola Group in the United States, is driving sustainable management solutions across four of its solar plants in Oregon and Washington using more than 5,000 sheep for vegetation control. This practice, known as solar grazing, helps keep the installations in optimal condition and reduces the risk of fires during the hottest months.

The initiative reinforces the Iberdrola Group's commitment to safe, efficient and environmentally responsible renewable operations, while promoting collaboration with local partners and the integration of traditional activities into the development of clean infrastructure.

Building on the positive development of this approach in recent years, Avangrid is considering expanding the solution to other solar projects in the United States. The initiative is part of Iberdrola's commitment to innovative solutions that combine sustainability, operational efficiency and shared value creation in the communities where it operates.
