Iberdrola signs agreement to strengthen the operation of 15 wind farms in the UK

ScottishPower RenewablesIberdrola Group's renewable energy subsidiary in the UK, in July signed a five-year agreement with RES, a company specialising in renewable energy, to strengthen the operation and maintenance of 15 onshore wind farms in the UK.

The contract will support a combined renewable capacity of nearly 600 MW, helping to ensure clean, secure and efficient generation amid growing demand for renewable electricity.

Together, the wind farms covered by the agreement have a capacity of 588 MW, enough to supply the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of around 412,000 households, according to RES data. They include Harestanes, one of Scotland's largest onshore wind farms.

The agreement will also help strengthen skilled employment and the wind energy value chain, helping to keep the wind farms operating safely and efficiently. It will also create 32 new jobs and strengthen the network of suppliers, contractors and technical professionals involved in the operation and maintenance of wind facilities.

This collaboration reflects the Group's commitment to establishing partnerships to improve the availability of its assets, drive electrification and advance the energy transition.
