Ignacio Galán attended the opening ceremony of the 7th edition of the La Toja Forum – Atlantic Link, inaugurated by King Felipe VI. This event, held on La Toja Island in Pontevedra (northwest Spain), is an internationally renowned gathering conceived as a space for reflection and debate on the fundamental values of democratic societies, the challenges of the global economy and the strategic changes in the international arena.
Created in 2019, the forum has established itself as a global benchmark for public discourse, guided by the defence of values such as individual freedom, equality, human dignity and the separation of powers, as well as social market economy principles and social solidarity.
This year’s edition of the forum has honoured the so-called ‘fathers of the Spanish Constitution’ – the seven men who drafted the current constitutional text – represented by Miguel Herrero y Rodríguez de Miñón and Miquel Roca i Junyent, in recognition of their contribution to democracy and progress.
