Iberdrola is strengthening its commitment to electrification in Brazil and announced this Thursday, through its subsidiary Neoenergia Brasília, the largest investment cycle to date in the Federal District's electricity system. A total of 3.1 billion reais (around €525 million) will be invested in projects to expand, modernise and digitalise the electricity distribution network between 2026 and 2030.
The plan aims to improve the quality and reliability of service for customers, drive economic development and prepare the Federal District for growth in the coming years.
The company is launching the largest investment cycle in the history of the concession with the commissioning of the Guará 2 substation, which expands network capacity and benefits more than 180,000 people. Five more substations are planned by 2030.
