ScottishPower Electricity North West, the distribution arm of ScottishPower and part of the Iberdrola Group in the UK, is making strong progress on its project to upgrade the electricity network in Salford, backed by an investment of more than €27 million.
As part of the project, ScottishPower Electricity North West has installed three 132,000 volt, 75-tonne transformers to help transfer power across Greater Manchester. In addition, work is underway to replace ageing underground cables with modern infrastructure.
This programme of works will ensure that the growing demand for electricity can be met as more people adopt technologies that rely on the power grid, such as electric vehicles and heat pumps.
