Avangrid renews collaboration with Yale to drive energy innovation

Avangrid, Iberdrola Group’s subsidiary in the United States, announced in late January the renewal of its collaboration agreement with Yale University in Connecticut. Avangrid CEO José Antonio Miranda attended the ceremony and pledged the company’s continued support for Yale’s innovative research, which is helping to drive a smarter energy future while strengthening energy reliability and adaptability in an ever-evolving energy landscape.

The collaboration between Avangrid and Yale, which began in 2019, has recently supported research topics such as the adoption of heat pumps, energy storage and energy policy.

To date, the collaboration has delivered high-impact projects with real-world potential, including an assessment of the feasibility of integrating solar energy in Connecticut, a study of network benefits for grid interconnections and the creation of a bespoke leadership programme for Avangrid executives.
