Iberdrola connects innovation, technology and talent to drive the modernisation of electricity networks in the United States

Avangrid, the Iberdrola Group subsidiary in the United States, held the ninth edition of its Innovation Forum on 17 and 18 June. The annual meeting brought energy leaders, academic experts, strategic partners and innovative companies together in Boston to drive technological solutions applied to the modernisation of the electricity network.

Under the theme Demonstrate and Deploy, the forum focused on how to accelerate the transition from innovative ideas to their real deployment on the ground. The forum also served as a collaborative space for startups, universities, tech companies, institutions and industry leaders, with the goal of strengthening an innovative ecosystem capable of generating a tangible impact for both the business and regions.

During the meeting, strategic issues such as the development of transmission networks, the evolution of energy markets, artificial intelligence, innovation funding and the skills needed to scale new technologies in the sector were addressed.

The company thus underscores the importance of demonstrating, deploying and scaling advanced technologies to reinforce electricity networks and move towards a more resilient, efficient and sustainable energy model.
