Iberdrola España and MediaMarkt sign a PPA covering 100% of its stores in Spain

  • The agreement will cover MediaMarkt's electricity consumption in Spain between 2028 and 2030 with guarantees of origin for renewable energy for all its stores, reinforcing its sustainability and electrification goals

MediaMarkt and Iberdrola España, the Iberdrola Group's subsidiary in Spain, have taken another step forward in electrification by signing an agreement to supply renewable energy to 100% of its stores across Spain from 2028 to 2030. The agreement covers the supply of more than 160 GWh of energy with guarantees of origin (GOs).

The agreement enables MediaMarkt to secure long-term renewable energy at a competitive price, in line with its strategy to promote stability and greater visibility over future energy costs. It also allows the company to make progress towards its sustainability and electrification goals.

Iberdrola offers businesses long-term energy solutions that provide greater stability and predictability in energy prices. These include PPAs, a market in which the company has maintained its leading position in Europe for the third consecutive year, according to the Pexapark Renewables Market Outlook 2026 report.
