Iberdrola reinforces its commitment to women’s football in the UK

ScottishPower, a subsidiary of the Iberdrola Group in the UK, has renewed its support for women’s football in Scotland for a further three years, extending its agreement as the exclusive Main Partner of Scottish Women’s Football (SWF) and the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL), a partnership launched in 2023 and considered the largest single investment in Scottish women’s football.

The announcement was marked by a projection at Edinburgh Castle, which highlighted the players’ entire journey from grassroots to the elite level, and the impact of ScottishPower’s support in creating opportunities for girls and women across the country, including development in more remote areas such as the Highlands and Islands.

The initiative is in line with the Iberdrola Group’s commitment to equality through sport, an active commitment since 2016 that includes support for more than 100 international competitions and 32 leagues, reaching thousands of female athletes.
