Iberdrola strengthens its commitment to electric mobility through partnership with BYD in Spain

Iberdrola España, Iberdrola Group’s subsidiary in Spain, and BYD have reached a strategic agreement to promote electric mobility in Spain through a solution combining home charging, energy tariffs and benefits across the public charging network.

The partnership aims to make electric vehicles more accessible through an integrated offering that simplifies charger installation and helps optimise the cost of journeys.

Customers purchasing a plug-in vehicle from BYD will receive a home charging unit when they arrange installation through Iberdrola. In addition, customers signing up for the Smart Charging Plan tariff will receive a discount on their energy contract equivalent to 10,000 kilometres of driving per year for three years.

The agreement also includes benefits for charging away from home: a 50% discount across Iberdrola’s public charging network for the first six months, followed by a 20% discount through a free subscription to the Smart Charging + Plan.

Through this partnership, Iberdrola is strengthening its commitment to the electrification of transport and to solutions tailored to drivers’ needs, both at home and on the road. The company has installed 100,000 public and private charging points in Spain and operates a public network with more than 12,000 charging points, infrastructure that underpins its commitment to electric mobility.
