ScottishPower reinforces security at its East Anglia wind farms with new contract signing

ScottishPower Renewables, the Iberdrola Group’s renewable subsidiary in the UK, has awarded Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) its first long-term contract in the offshore renewable energy sector. The agreement will provide emergency response and rescue services during the construction of the East Anglia TWO and East Anglia THREE offshore wind farms, located off the coast of Suffolk (UK).

The contract, valued at more than €8.1 million, will allow VOS to deploy the vessel VOS Traveller from the port of Lowestoft to guarantee 24-hour surveillance, search and rescue services, medical assistance, logistical support and environmental monitoring during construction work on the offshore wind farms.

East Anglia TWO and THREE will generate enough renewable electricity to power more than two million homes, in addition to supporting thousands of jobs during the construction and operation phases.

The inclusion of VOS reinforces the supply chain taking part in the development of one of the largest investments in renewable energy in the UK and in the progress towards a cleaner, more sustainable energy system.
