Supplier classification

Learn more about our supplier assessment and classification

At Iberdrola, we ensure that our suppliers meet the highest quality standards. To do so, we use GoSupply, a cloud-based solution that allows us to evaluate the supplier on multiple points – occupational hazard prevention, financial aspects, cybersecurity, sustainability, etc. – and classify them into different levels according to their performance.

Iberdrola uses the GoSupply solution as a supplier assessment, classification, risk measurement and sustainability system.

When a supplier has not been assessed and classified previously, is invited to participate and submits a bid in a tender with an estimated value equal to or greater than €700,000, it will be invited to register in GoSupply, in the 360º Level mode, to assess the supplier's full risk profile and ESG (Sustainability) score.

For tenders below €700,000, or where no potential risk is considered to exist, participating suppliers will also be evaluated through GoSupply in the Basic Level mode.

The keys to our classification system

Platform

With the support of GoSupply and using information provided by the suppliers themselves and third parties, the supplier is evaluated: financially, for occupational hazard prevention, cybersecurity, sustainability, and compliance.

For suppliers already active with Iberdrola, the transition and registration process to GoSupply will be done by electronic invitation. The supplier will remain at Basic or 360ª level at Iberdrola's request. Registration in GoSupply is free of charge for the supplier.

Assessment

With GoSupply, Iberdrola can obtain a comprehensive view at both the supplier and aggregate level of risks related to Sustainability, Finance, Ethics & Compliance, Cybersecurity and Health & Safety. Real-time risk monitoring provides a comprehensive view of the supplier base.

Up-to-date

The supplier should ensure that its information is always up-to-date and should periodically review the supporting documentation requested during the questionnaire completion phase. Incomplete or outdated information may result in a higher than normal risk assessment and a poor sustainability assessment.

Integration of purchasing decision making

The sustainability and risk level assessment of suppliers is part of the procurement process at IBUY. Buyers analyse this information (risks and sustainability) at key points during the tender: invitation to tender (request for quote), closing of negotiations and award.

In the medium term, companies that fail to achieve the required sustainability levels or that do not accept risk mitigation measures and improvement plans run the risk of not continuing as Iberdrola suppliers.
