Minsait has developed a solution that will detect the presence of fire in the vicinity of power lines and alert Iberdrola's Distribution Operation Centre. This, in turn, will allow early notification of the authorities and the Fire Brigade.

The Polish company Smart PD won the Startup Challenge Inspection of critical systems at substations, seeking simple and low-cost solutions that make it possible to identify anomalies during cell assembly work in medium and high voltage substations.

Two projects have been selected as winners of the Start-up Challenge launched by Iberdrola —through its International Start-up Programme - PERSEO— in which innovative solutions were sought to avoid bird collisions on its overhead distribution lines.

Iberdrola selects Automa as the winner of the challenge to find innovative solutions to reduce non-technical losses in the distribution network. A challenge launched in November 2021 through the international PERSEO Start-up Programme in the framework of the Global Smart Grids Innovation Hub.

British Smart Power Networks (SMPnet) was the winner of this challenge in the search for innovative solutions that promote voltage synchronisation measurement systems between remote points, adapted to the needs of the distribution grid. The challenge was launched by Iberdrola through its International Startup Programme - PERSEO, the Global Smart Grids Innovation Hub and Catapult.

Spanish startup XmartSense won the Wind turbine monitoring challenge with a wireless, self-powered sensor capable of measuring temperature, moisture, pressure, etc, to improve systems monitoring on wind farms.
