Iberdrola named ‘Investor of the Year’ in the UK for its investments in electrification

ScottishPower, the Iberdrola Group’s UK subsidiary, has been named ‘Investor of the Year’ at the British Business Awards, an accolade that recognises its record investment of over €27 million to accelerate the future of clean energy in the UK.

This investment drive is enabling the development of projects to boost electrification, including key infrastructure such as the Eastern Link and some of the world’s largest offshore wind farms, currently under construction off the coast of East Anglia.

The jury highlighted the company’s sustained, long-term strategy in renewable energy, electricity grids and infrastructure, emphasising its contribution to increasing the resilience of the energy system and promoting a more efficient energy model.

This effort translates into billions invested in the supply chain and the creation of thousands of jobs, leaving a legacy of modern electricity infrastructure capable of driving the British economy for decades to come.
