Iberdrola España, subsidiary of the Iberdrola Group in Spain, has welcomed artistic swimmer Iris Tió to its Ambassadors programme, an initiative designed to raise the profile of women’s sport and further the Group’s commitment to equality.
At just 23 years old, Iris Tió has established herself as one of the world’s leading artistic swimmers. Her recent achievements include a team bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and three gold medals at the 2025 World Championships in Singapore, where she also made history for Spanish artistic swimming.
With her appointment, Iberdrola expands a programme that brings together 35 elite athletes from a wide range of disciplines, all of whom represent values such as dedication, leadership and perseverance. The initiative is part of the Group’s social commitment to promoting a more inclusive, diverse and inspiring sporting environment for future generations.
Since 2016, Iberdrola has played a leading role in the development of women’s sport in Spain, supporting 35 national sports federations and sponsoring more than 100 competitions. Over the past decade, this commitment has contributed to an increase of more than 80% in the number of female federation members across the sports it supports, bringing the total to nearly 820,000.
