Ignacio Galán attends the conferral of an honorary doctorate on the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella

Ignacio Galán attended the ceremony at which the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Salamanca, in a ceremony presided over by His Majesty the King of Spain.

The award of an honorary doctorate is the highest academic distinction conferred by the University of Salamanca, of which Galán is president of the Social Council. This recognition reflects Sergio Mattarella’s political and academic career, as well as his defence of humanism, culture and European values as the pillars of democratic coexistence and the common European project.
