At a time when its focus has moved from climate action to how to tackle reconstruction post COVID-19, this year's New York Climate Week (September 21 - 27) was concentrating on the lessons we can learn from the current situation to help us move towards a carbon neutral future by way of a fair transition. Iberdrola group, worldwide benchmark in the fight against climate change, approached this summit convinced that the only way forward with respect to recovery is the green way and committed to developing a more robust, sustainable and resilient economy.
New York City hosts the 16th edition of Climate Week (22-29 September) under the slogan It's time. As in previous editions, the event is presented as a platform for connection and dissemination, focusing on the fulfilment of climate goals and the need to increase the commitments made by companies, governments and organizations.

In 2016, Iberdrola was the first IBEX 35 company -and the first electricity company among the ten largest in the world- to obtain ISO 20121 certification to accredit the sustainable management of our General Shareholders' Meeting. Four years later, we were once again pioneers among IBEX 35 companies in extending the scope of our most important corporate events for shareholders and the financial community under the same management system: Results Presentations, Capital Markets & ESG Day and the General Shareholders' Meeting.
New York City (USA) became the epicentre of the climate agenda in September 2019. The city hosted two pivotal events to measure the degree of commitment to global warming. These are the United Nations Climate Action Summit on 23 September and the Climate Week NYC from 23 to 29 September. The next United Nations Conference on climate change (COP25) was held in Chile.
