Avangrid and SmartestEnergy sign deal to supply energy from two wind farms in New Hampshire

Avangrid, the Iberdrola Group’s US subsidiary, and SmartestEnergy, a global provider of renewable energy solutions for businesses, have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) from two Avangrid facilities in New Hampshire. SmartestEnergy will receive the total capacity of Avangrid's Lempster and Groton energy projects, which together total 72 megawatts (MW). This agreement represents the first long-term power purchase agreement between the two companies.

Lempster is a 24 MW wind farm located in Sullivan County, which began operating in 2008, becoming New Hampshire's first modern, commercial-scale wind facility. Groton is a 48 MW wind facility in Grafton County, which went online in 2012.

Avangrid operates in 23 states and has an energy capacity of 10.5 GW from 80 projects.
