This prize will acknowledge the work of private companies, public administrations and the third sector

Iberdrola and the Club de Excelencia en Sostenibilidad, with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, call for applications for the “1st International Energy Cooperation Awards”, which will recognise, in three different categories, the most salient active initiatives undertaken by companies, public administrations and the third sector towards achieving universal access to energy.

Eligible projects for the 1st International Energy Cooperation Award shall be under development at the time of presenting the application, on an international scale, with verifiable results and must have taken into account the three aspects of energy co-operation: economic, social and environmental.

The Award

An award will be granted to the winner of each category- private, public and third sector- by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation at a public ceremony taking place in the last quarter of the year, moment in which the verdict of the jury will be disclosed.

Assessment of the applications will be carried out by a jury of renowned corporate and institutional experts in the field. In order to evaluate the projects, the jury will take into account the impact and the value creation of each initiative; the project's contribution to sustainable development; consistency and long-term duration; replicability of its model; innovative character; international scope; and the existence of clear objectives and monitoring indicators.

If the jury deems it appropriate, other applicants can be recognized with accessit, without a prize.
