Iberdrola appoints new CEO at Iberdrola México

Katya Somohano Silva has assumed the position of CEO of Iberdrola Mexico with the responsibility of leading a new stage of growth for the company in the country, with the boost of the local team and the support of the Iberdrola Group, which is focused on developing clean energy projects.

The Executive Chairman of Iberdrola Group Ignacio Galán stated that "after an excellent career inside and outside Iberdrola Mexico, Katya Somohano takes over the management of the company at the head of a young and diverse, but very experienced team. I am sure that, under her leadership, Iberdrola Mexico will continue to invest, create more jobs and provide the best service to Mexicans in this new phase". 

Katya Somohano is originally from Mexico City. She holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and a Master's degree in Law from the University of Cambridge in the UK. In 2018 she completed the Senior Management Programme at the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE) and attended the Innovation Programme at Harvard Business School.
