Iberdrola organises the largest exhibition dedicated to the technological evolution of electricity and its future
The exhibition, which is free to enter, invites visitors on a journey through the past, present and future of electricity

The largest monographic and interactive exhibition to date on the past, present and future of electricity is being made available to the public by Iberdrola. Titled An Electrifying Journey: An Iberdrola Immersive Experience, the exhibition will be open to visitors free of charge from 21 September to 20 October at the Galería de Cristal at CentroCentro, in Madrid’s Palacio de Cibeles.
The exhibition invites visitors to discover the key milestones that have shaped the history of electrification, from the earliest scientific discoveries to the latest technological innovations, while virtual content offers a glimpse of what the cities of the future will look like in the “age of electricity”.
With a strong educational focus, the initiative aims to spark young people’s curiosity about science and technology and inspire the next generation to pursue careers that will see them play a leading role in building this electric future.
The public will also be able to explore the role electricity has played in socioeconomic development over the past 125 years through practical examples.
The exhibition features historical content and interactive elements exploring the fundamentals of electricity and the evolution of electrical technology. Through immersive spaces, visitors will also be able to experience the profound transformation that electrification is bringing to cities, mobility and industry.
Highlights of the exhibition include an immersive audiovisual experience using mixed-reality headsets, a museum featuring original pieces of significant technological and historical value linked to the development of the electricity system, live demonstrations that make electricity visible using a Tesla coil, and educational workshops for students and families.
Through Iberdrola's history, the exhibition will also showcase some of the major milestones that have shaped the history of the electricity sector, from the first power plants to the expansion of renewable energy, smart grids, energy storage and the electrification of demand.
The exhibition will be open to the public every day from 10am to 10pm. Tickets are free and can be booked online through entradas.com aor obtained at the box office. Special activities will also be organised for schools and other groups, with the participation of Iberdrola volunteers.

The exhibition forms part of the “125 light-years” programme, through which the company chaired by Ignacio Galán is celebrating its 125-years history throughout 2026 with initiatives aimed at employees, customers, shareholders and society. Key milestones in the anniversary celebrations include the major concerts held in Bilbao, Madrid and Valencia, alongside exhibitions, social activities and cultural initiatives through which the company is sharing its legacy and commitment to the future of electrification.
