Ni un caballero Jedi sería tan preciso... Las últimas tecnologías aplicadas a la restauración de obras de arte consiguen resultados espectaculares y respetuosos con el patrimonio histórico, artístico y cultural. Veamos algunas de ellas al detalle:
Ablación láser
Las últimas pistolas de rayos láser utilizadas en la restauración de piezas artísticas se calibran con tal exactitud que volatilizan la capa de suciedad sin dañar la pieza. Esta técnica no contamina, no produce residuos y su velocidad reduce los costes de tal forma que hace viables proyectos de restauración hasta ahora imposibles.
Emisores de ultrasonidos
Los expertos no han dudado en estudiar y analizar los efectos que tendrían las últimas tecnologías en disciplinas como la medicina, la topografía o el diseño industrial en el ámbito de la restauración. Tal es el caso de los emisores de ultrasonidos, que se utilizan para eliminar las piedras en los riñones y también han resultado muy efectivos para limpiar obras sensibles al agua.
Biolimpieza
Otro ejemplo lo encontramos en las últimas técnicas de la microbiología: las bacterias pueden ser entrenadas para alimentarse de sustancias concretas como las costras salinas, las colas o los nitratos. Esta biolimpieza pone fin al uso de disolventes y ácidos, todos ellos altamente agresivos.
Limpieza criogénica
También resulta sorprendente la proyección de hielo seco a 80 grados bajo cero y a velocidades de hasta 1.000 kilómetros hora. Este tipo de limpieza criogénica se aplica sobre piedra, marfil, metales e, incluso, libros antiguos porque no deja humedad.
