Electricity distributed by Iberdrola grows by 6.3% in June

The electricity distributed by Iberdrola globally increased by 6.3% in the first half of 2026, reaching 136,648 gigawatt hours (GWh), due to the increase in demand and the progress of electrification.

Distributed electricity increased in all the geographical areas in which the Group operates, with the United Kingdom being particularly noteworthy, where it grew by 32.6%, driven by the integration of Electricity North West.

Generation capacity

Generation capacity increased by nearly 4% to 56,827 megawatts (MW), representing an additional 2,300 MW.

The main increases in capacity have been recorded in wind technologies (onshore and offshore), in which they have added more than 1,400 MW, followed by solar (+1,000 MW). Battery capacity grew by 117% thanks to new operational projects in Spain and Australia.

By geographical area, the increase in power (23.2%) in Continental Europe and Australia stands out, where more than 1,000 MW have been added, mainly in onshore wind in countries such as Australia, Greece and Portugal and solar in Germany or Italy. Meanwhile, in the United States, nearly 800 MW have been added in the last 12 months, an increase of 7.3%, in the United Kingdom capacity increased by 400 MW and in Spain capacity grows by about 600 MW.

Production

Iberdrola's production reached 61,318 gigawatt hours (GWh) in the first half of 2026, almost 1% more, thanks to the 2% increase recorded in the second quarter. By technology, offshore wind stands out, increasing by 23%, and by markets, the highest growth was recorded in the United Kingdom (+27.3%), the United States (+8%) and the rest of the world (+11.5%).

With regard to Spain, production reached 32,732 GWh, in line with last year. After producing more than 12,000 GWh hydroelectric, reserves remain at levels close to the historical record as of June 30, with more than 8,200 GWh stored, thanks to pumping capacity
