Ignacio Galán, chairman of Iberdrola, met the 23 members of the Spanish's Women's Football Squad at the company's offices in Madrid today, to encourage them in the World Cup, which starts in France on 7 June.

Under a banner reading Our energy for a dream: to win in France, Galán encouraged the members of the first Sustainable Women's Football Squad to overcome the challenges ahead, through the values they share with Iberdrola: team work, persistence, sacrifice and determination to be the best.       

In line with its commitment to equal opportunities and empowering women, Iberdrola supports 16 Spanish federations, including the Royal Football Federation, which it has been working with since 2016. Iberdrola sponsors the women's national team and the First Division, which became known as the Iberdrola League in 2016. It is also the main sponsor of the U19 and U17 national teams and the S.M. La Reina Cup.
