2026-01-23 12:59:00.0Neoenergia Institute transforms the lives of 2.5 million people through more than 90 initiatives
Neoenergia, a subsidiary of the Iberdrola Group in Brazil, has supported more than 90 social projects recognised as of public interest by the Brazilian authorities over the last year through the Neoenergia Institute. With grants of around €4.5 million (28 million Brazilian reais), the Institute’s investments have increased by 46% from the previous year in both federal and state initiatives.
Since 2019, the Neoenergia Institute has allocated €14 million (84 million reais) through these legal mechanisms to develop social projects in culture and sport aimed at children, young people, the elderly and people with disabilities, as well as cancer patients.
The 93 initiatives supported by the Neoenergia Institute, most of which are focused on art, culture and sport (71%), have benefited more than 2.5 million people in the Federal District, Bahia, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte and São Paulo in 2025.
