11/03/2025 - 17:20 UTC +01:00Galán presents plans to invest in the US more than 20 billion dollars in grid infrastructure by 2030 The Executive Chairman of Iberdrola , Ignacio Galán, is taking part this week in the CERAWeek Conference organised by S&P Global, the largest energy event in the United States and one of the largest in the world, which is being held in Houston, Texas from 10 March to Friday 14. Ignacio Galán has held meetings with the top energy policy makers in the United States: the Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, and Doug Burgum, Chairman of the National Energy Dominance Council and US Secretary of the Interior. During these meetings, Galán expressed his commitment to the country , where significant growth in electricity demand is expected. ‘The United States is one of Iberdrola's main investment destinations. To the $50 B invested in the last 20 years, we will add more than $20 B between now and the end of the decade to modernise, expand and digitalise grid infrastructure, making the expected increase in demand in the country possible’, said Galán. 11/03/2025Iberdrola México and Bayer commission a photovoltaic self-consumption system to produce sedes Iberdrola México has commissioned a Smart Solar photovoltaic self-consumption system installed for the multinational pharmaceutical Bayer at its vegetable seed production plant in Chiapas, Yax-Nah (‘green house’ in Mayan). The system has an installed capacity of 300 kW with 660 photovoltaic modules capable of generating 552 MWh of clean energy per year and will prevent the release of approximately 233 tonnes of CO2 every year. This is equivalent to the carbon captured by 3,858 trees over the next 10 years. Local authorities, community members and executives from Bayer and Iberdrola Mexico inaugurated the new solar panel installation and reiterated the commitment of both companies to a more sustainable future. The company offers the opportunity for students to engage in activities related to electrification and renewable energy . This is undoubtedly a development opportunity for society and the health of our planet. The Iberdrola International Scholarship Programme is aimed at graduates and final-year university students. In total, it will have an investment of €1,200,336.
