16/06/2026 - 18:37 UTC +02:00Iberdrola launches €1.5 billion green bond issue with strong investor demand Iberdrola has successfully closed a European senior green bond issue for a total amount of €1.5 billion, structured in two tranches with 4- and 10-year maturities, as reported to the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). The transaction attracted strong investor demand, exceeding €4.5 billion — three times the amount placed — which enabled the company to significantly improve the initial terms. This was made possible by the participation of more than 330 qualified international investors, mainly from France (23%), the United Kingdom (22%) and Spain and Portugal (16%). The first tranche, amounting to €750 million and maturing in June 2030, has a coupon of 3.125%. The second tranche, also amounting to €750 million, matures in June 2036 and has a coupon of 3.75%. As in previous issues, Iberdrola complies in this transaction not only with the ICMA Green Bond Principles, but also with the new European Union Green Bond Standard. The proceeds from this issue will be used to finance investments in grids in the main countries where Iberdrola operates, as well as to selectively refinance renewable energy projects, in line with the priorities of its strategic plan . In this way, the company reinforces its commitment to expanding its grid infrastructure — key to electrification — and to selective growth in renewables. The transaction demonstrates the company’s ability to access the markets and take advantage of the most favourable windows. The global coordinators were HSBC and Santander, together with CaixaBank, Crédit Agricole, Intesa Sanpaolo, Natixis, NatWest and Scotiabank as active bookrunners. The level of demand and the terms achieved once again demonstrate the strong confidence of the market and investors in the strength and solvency of the Group’s business and growth plans. READ MORE

The display, featuring 1,500 drones, illuminated the skies above Bilbao and was visible from multiple locations across the city between 11.00 pm and 11.30 pm. Following the free music festival held earlier in the day in Doña Casilda Park, which featured performances by Juanes, Antonio Orozco, Rigoberta Bandini and Süne, the evening culminated in a breathtaking aerial display lasting around 20 minutes. The show celebrated some of the most significant milestones in Iberdrola’s history, including its journey from its origins in Bilbao to becoming a global energy leader. Through a succession of striking images, the drones recreated elements associated with the company’s activity, including electricity infrastructure, while also highlighting its social commitment. Tens of thousands of people gathered at key viewing points across the city, including Mount Artxanda, Avenida de las Universidades, the area surrounding the Euskalduna Bridge, Plaza Euskadi and Plaza Txema Aguirre, to enjoy the display, which was powered entirely by renewable energy. Throughout the day, visitors had access to information points, food and beverage outlets, medical services, toilet facilities, accessible areas for people with reduced mobility, a children's play zone and a Punto Violeta safe space. A dedicated cleaning, maintenance and landscaping operation was also deployed throughout the event to ensure the venues remained in excellent condition. 125 Years of Light The celebration forms part of the “125 Light Years” programme, through which Iberdrola is marking its anniversary throughout 2026 with initiatives for employees, customers, shareholders and the wider public. 10/06/2026 - 16:05 UTC +02:00Iberdrola strengthens its commitment to shared renewable energy in Portugal with 10 solar communities Iberdrola Portugal, subsidiary of the Iberdrola Group in Portugal , continues to promote solutions that expand access to shared renewable energy, with the development of 10 solar communities – two already operational and eight further ones – across different regions of the country. Together, these communities will enable the sharing of nearly 1.7 million kWh of renewable energy and prevent the emission of over 250,000 kilograms of CO₂, making a tangible contribution to electrification and reinforcing the Group’s commitment to a more decentralised, participatory energy model that is closer to the consumer. The model developed by Iberdrola enables surplus energy generated by photovoltaic installations to be shared with nearby consumers, even if they do not have their own panels. In this way, access to renewable energy is democratised, a more efficient use of energy resources is encouraged, and direct benefits are generated for producers and consumers. As well as promoting energy savings and sustainability, these solar communities help to create value in the local area and accelerate the transition to a cleaner, more distributed and resilient energy system. 08/06/2026Iberdrola to invest nearly €4.5 billion in electricity networks in Bahia, Brazil, by 2030 Iberdrola is strengthening its commitment to electrification in Brazil with a planned investment of around 25 billion Brazilian reais (almost €4.5 billion) in electricity infrastructure in the state of Bahia by 2030. Through its subsidiary Neoenergia Coelba, the company will build 54 new substations, more than 2,000 kilometres of high-voltage transmission lines and 42,000 kilometres of medium-voltage distribution networks . As a result, Bahia will receive half of the investment earmarked for electricity networks under Neoenergia’s five-year plan. Following the recent renewal of its distribution concessions, Iberdrola’s Brazilian subsidiary is set to invest a total of 50 billion reais (€9 billion) in network infrastructure across the country. The announcement was made by Iberdrola’s Executive Chairman Ignacio Galán during the opening ceremony of the Bahia Farm Show, Brazil’s largest agricultural trade fair. Neoenergia has participated in the event for more than a decade. The ceremony was attended by the Vice-President of Brazil, Geraldo Alckmin; the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira; the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, André de Paula; the Governor of Bahia, Jerônimo Rodrigues; Senator Jaques Wagner; Neoenergia CEO Eduardo Capelastegui; and other government officials and institutional representatives. Galán highlighted that the renewal of the distribution concessions for a further 30 years, signed in May, "has been essential in providing the regulatory predictability needed to encourage investment within a framework of legal certainty, such as the one Brazil offers, paving the way for a new investment cycle." Electrification as a catalyst for development In his address, Galán underscored the role of electrification in building a more competitive, self-sufficient, secure and sustainable energy system. He described investment in electricity infrastructure as "a true catalyst for development", driving employment, supporting local economies through procurement and supply chains, attracting new industries and creating opportunities for professional training. Against the backdrop of rising investment in the state, he expressed confidence that "Bahia will continue to play a leading role in Brazil’s growth story." Long-term commitment to Brazil Iberdrola has been operating in Brazil for nearly three decades and, through Neoenergia, supplies electricity to more than 40 million people. Active in 18 states and the Federal District, Neoenergia is the country’s leading electricity distribution group and the largest private investor in electricity infrastructure. "Brazil is a strategic market for Iberdrola," Galán said. The Group’s presence in Brazil dates back to 1997, when it integrated the distribution companies Coelba, in Bahia, and Cosern, in Rio Grande do Norte. Since then, Iberdrola has invested more than 120 billion reais (approximately €20 billion) in the country. READ MORE
