Iberdrola welcomes Sofía Val as an ambassador, strengthening its commitment to women’s sport

Iberdrola España, a subsidiary of the Iberdrola Group in Spain, has added figure skater Sofía Val to the Iberdrola Ambassadors programme, which promotes female visibility and leadership in sport, coinciding with the start of the Winter Olympics being held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy).

At just 21 years of age, the Madrid-born skater has won three silver medals in Spanish championships and several gold medals in various international championships.

Sofía Val thus joins the Iberdrola Ambassadors family, made up of sports leaders such as Alexia Putellas, Teresa Perales, Carolina Marín, María Pérez, Adiaratou Iglesias, Loida Zabala, Ana Peleteiro, Paula Leitón and Paula Badosa, among other elite women in national sport, as well as Brazilian athletes Bruna Kajiya and Meirelle Leite.

Since 2016, Iberdrola has been the main promoter of women's sport. It currently sponsors 35 Spanish federations and lends its name to more than 100 competitions. Thanks to its commitment, over the last decade it has helped to increase the number of female members of these federations by more than 80%, to almost 820,000.
