Iberdrola continues to be the only Spanish company in this ranking and is one of the seven companies included in the Energy and Utilities category, which also includes its subsidiary in the United States, Avangrid. With the publication of this index, the Ethisphere Institute has since 2007 recognised companies that promote positive change in the global business community and consider the impact of their activities on their employees, customers and other stakeholders, while fostering a culture of integrity and values in their decision-making. The companies included excel in ethical practices, promote the highest international standards of compliance, and demonstrate high levels of stakeholder engagement and commitment to transparency, diversity and inclusion. To compile the World's Most Ethical Companies ranking, the Ethisphere Institute analyses more than 200 KPIs on governance, leadership and reputation, compliance, ethics culture, and social and environmental impact. In 2025, a total of 136 companies from 19 countries and 44 business sectors have been recognised and included on the list. 07/03/2025Iberdrola launches its International Master's Scholarship Programme Today, Iberdrola opens a new call for applications for its Master's Scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year , aiming to promote excellence in the education of new generations and foster young talent. The company offers the opportunity for students to engage in activities related to electrification and renewable energy . This is undoubtedly a development opportunity for society and the health of our planet. The Iberdrola International Scholarship Programme is aimed at graduates and final-year university students. In total, it will have an investment of €1,200,336. Through this initiative, the company seeks to enhance the professional qualifications of young people in the energy sector, with special emphasis on areas such as engineering, renewable energies, information technologies, sustainability, and big data. Applicants can choose from around twenty top universities or technological institutes. These institutions include the University of Edinburgh, University of Strathclyde, and Imperial College London in the UK; the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas and the Polytechnic Universities of Madrid, Valencia, and the Basque Country in Spain, among others. The registration process for this new call began on Wednesday and will remain open until April 4. In selecting candidates, factors such as academic records, language proficiency, CV, interest in the study project, and letters of reference will be considered. This edition's scholarships will be awarded to students in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Big Data, Cybersecurity, Information and Communication Technologies, Business Administration, and Digital Marketing. Offshore wind farms could be served by battery-powered vessels recharged by the turbines of the offshore installations themselves according to a study conducted by ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) and Maersk's Stillstrom. The report is the first in a series of three commissioned by ScottishPower Renewables to explore the electrification of offshore operations with clean technologies and a great example of team work between developers and the supply chain. The paper analyses the feasibility and benefits of using battery-powered service vessels (E-SOVs) in offshore wind farm operations. 03/03/2025 - 16:01 UTC +01:00Iberdrola Italy to supply green electricity to Italian distribution giant Pam Panorama Iberdrola Italia , Iberdrola's international business company in that country and Pam Panorama, a historic Italian hypermarket and supermarket company, have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a total of 1,000 GWh. The agreement means that the Italian company will receive energy from photovoltaic sources for its Pam, Panorama, Pam local and Pam City outlets in Italy. This partnership improves competitiveness and accelerates electrification , reducing annual CO2 emissions by more than 38,300 tonnes, equal to the needs of 40,300 households. By 2025, Iberdrola will have an installed capacity of around 400 MW in Italy thanks to the imminent inauguration of its third plant in operation and the completion of construction of four additional PV projects. For the second consecutive year, Iberdrola has been confirmed as the leader in the European PPA market according to the Pexapark Renewables Market Outlook 2025 report, with 1,251 MW contracted (38% more than in 2023). Iberdrola España has announced 15 deals in Europe, with major companies such as Amazon, with which it has signed wind and photovoltaic PPAs in Spain, Portugal and the UK for the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm, and with Italian companies such as BTicino, Acciaierie Venete, Prima Sole Components and Bayer for a total of around 50 MW. Europe's leading electricity company in terms of stock market value has also strengthened partnerships with major companies like Microsoft, Meta, Salzgitter, Mercedes-Benz and Vodafone, confirming the PPA as a key tool for industrial electrification, as it guarantees renewable energy at a fixed and stable price over the long term. The company has assets in 24 states and is capable of supplying approximately 3.1 million average households in the US. Avangrid's assets not only power American consumers but also provide key economic benefits to communities, supporting more than 500 permanent jobs and paying more than $50 million in property taxes in 2024. Avangrid recently announced its partnership with several large tech companies on eight projects underway to power data centres, with more projects under construction to meet growing energy demand. EBITDA of €16.848 billion (+17%). * In line with company policy, almost all of the capital gains from divestments (€1.1 billion) allocated to measures to improve efficiency and future performance. Record investments of €17 billion, up 50% * Record investment levels of €12 billion (+5%) organic, plus €5 billion in corporate transactions (ENW and Avangrid minorities). 70% of total investment is directed to the UK and U.S. * €11.2 billion invested in networks, more than doubling the prior year. In addition to investments in distribution, transmission investment grew 54%, mainly in U.S. and UK projects. * Nearly €5.5 billion invested in renewables, with 2,600 MW of capacity commissioned in 2024 to deliver a portfolio exceeding 44,000 MW. The GSGIH is the company's global headquarters for smart grids. The ambassador, accompanied by a trade delegation from the country and the Honorary Consul of Finland in Bilbao, Carolina Pérez Toledo, were received by Asís Canales, Iberdrola’s Global Director of Resources and Services, and Estíbaliz Goñi, Director of Processes and Technology at i-DE –the Iberdrola Group’s distributor– and visited the facilities of the hub where they learned about Iberdrola’s advances in innovation, digitisation and electrification. Finland is one of the most digitised countries in the world. Around 85.6% of SMEs have digital skills in artificial intelligence or data analysis above the European average. READ MORE
