02/06/2026 - 17:00 UTC +02:00Iberdrola has connected its new Tower Solar plant to the grid in Oregon (USA) to meet the growing demand from large customers Iberdrola, through its subsidiary Avangrid , has connected its new Tower Solar photovoltaic plant to the regional electricity grid in Morrow County, Oregon (United States). The company expects the plant to enter commercial operation this summer, once the final phases of the project have been completed, to help meet the growing energy demand of large customers. With a capacity of 166 MWdc (120 MWac), the facility incorporates more than 250,000 solar panels. The energy generated will be fed into the Portland General Electric (PGE) grid and will be used primarily to meet the demand of large municipal, commercial and industrial consumers, in a context marked by strong growth in electricity demand. For example, the new renewable capacity at Tower Solar will support the operations in the region of QTS (Quality Technology Services), one of the leading US providers of digital infrastructure and data centres. In this regard, the plant will supply electricity to the PGE grid through the Green Future Impact (GFI) programme, which enables large consumers to access clean energy to advance their decarbonisation goals. This model drives the development of new renewable capacity directly linked to these customers’ demand, without passing on additional costs to other users of the system. The project responds to the sustained growth in electricity demand in the United States, particularly in the north-west of the country. In this context, the Group is reinforcing its commitment to energy solutions that combine competitiveness, security of supply, local generation, direct support for economic and industrial growth, and community development. Through Avangrid, the Iberdrola Group has more than 11,000 MW of installed capacity in the United States, spread across nearly 100 plants in 25 states. READ MORE

02/06/2026 - 10:40 UTC +02:00Iberdrola promotes the electrification of industry with eight projects that will mobilise 150 MW of renewable energy Iberdrola has been awarded eight projects in the first European auction for the decarbonisation of industrial heat promoted by the European Commission's 'Innovation Fund', an initiative that will accelerate the replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energy in energy-intensive industrial sectors. The initiatives, based on the direct electrification of heat using electric boilers, will require approximately 240 GWh per year of electricity from renewable sources. The programme will significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions associated with industrial processes with high energy demand, strengthening the competitiveness of the participating companies. The actions will be deployed in sectors such as food and beverages, chemicals, manufacturing, tires, mining and other industrial areas, consolidating electrification as one of the main levers to advance in the decarbonization of industry. With this award, Iberdrola reinforces its role as a strategic partner of the industry in its electrification process, offering solutions that reduce exposure to the volatility of fossil fuels and advance the sustainability and emission reduction objectives required by European regulation and the market. 65 selected projects The European auction, managed by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), has selected 65 projects in ten European countries, with nearly 400 million euros in aid. Spain leads the call with 24 of the 65 awards. In the case of Iberdrola, the set of selected initiatives adds up to nearly 50 million euros in aid, which represents approximately 35% of the total granted in Spain and represents a significant boost to accelerate the electrification of industrial heat in the country. In addition to reducing emissions, the initiatives will allow participating companies to move towards more efficient, competitive and resilient energy models, thanks to long-term contracts that provide stability and visibility on the cost of decarbonised heat. The execution of these projects includes long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) that will mobilize more than 150 MW of renewable energy. These actions are in addition to two other PPAs signed by Iberdrola in Spain with companies in the metallurgical and data centre sectors, which together represent another 90 MW of renewable energy. Comprehensive solution Iberdrola offers a comprehensive solution that covers the design, construction and operation of the facilities, as well as the supply of the renewable energy necessary to produce electrified heat. The aim is to minimise the impact on factory operations and facilitate efficient and easy decarbonisation for industrial customers. "This aid allows us to accelerate real, mature initiatives that improve the competitiveness of our customers, reduce their cost of heat, reduce their exposure to the volatility of fossil fuels and advance decarbonisation objectives," says Fernando Mateo, head of industrial decarbonisation at Iberdrola. "The direct electrification of industrial heat is one of the most effective levers to cut emissions in the short term, and the European auction shows that there is a solid portfolio of viable projects to be deployed from now on," he said. The award comes at a key moment for electrification in Europe. The European Commission is already working on a second call for industrial heat auctions scheduled for the coming months, with the aim of continuing to accelerate the replacement of fossil heat with clean solutions and technologies. Iberdrola works with customers in energy-intensive sectors to accelerate the implementation of clean technologies, strengthen the competitiveness of the industrial fabric and move towards a more sustainable and energy-efficient economic model. 28/05/2026 - 17:27 UTC +02:00Iberdrola promotes the restoration of natural habitats in southern Scotland ScottishPower, subsidiary of the Iberdrola Group in the UK , continues to move forward with its commitment to biodiversity and climate action through a new environmental restoration project in southern Scotland, led by its distribution company ScottishPower Energy Networks in collaboration with specialist conservation organisations. The project has enabled the restoration of 22.5 hectares of peatland in the Loch Moan area, an area equivalent to around 32 football pitches, with the aim of restoring the natural flow of water to the River Cree and improving habitat quality. This initiative contributes to strengthening the health of the river ecosystem and supports the conservation of species with high ecological value in an area of particular biodiversity importance. The restoration of peatlands, which act as major carbon sinks, helps to avoid emissions associated with land degradation while also strengthening the environmental resilience of the surrounding area, in line with the Group’s strategy of integrating nature-based solutions into its activities. This initiative forms part of SP Energy Networks’ Nature Action Plan and demonstrates how investment in electricity networks can generate shared value for communities and the environment. Through projects such as this, Iberdrola is progressing towards its ambition of achieving a net positive impact on biodiversity by 2030 and actively contributing to the regeneration of natural capital in the regions where it operates. 27/05/2026 - 16:46 UTC +02:00Ignacio Galán takes part in Iberdrola’s Shareholders’ Day in Bilbao Iberdrola’s Executive Chairman, Ignacio Galán, took part in the latest edition of the Iberdrola Shareholders’ Conference , held at the company’s headquarters, Torre Iberdrola (Bilbao), as part of a series of meetings being held in various cities ahead of the General Shareholders’ Meeting scheduled for this coming Friday, 29 May. The event in the capital of Biscay, which ran throughout the day and was attended by nearly a thousand shareholders, featured the participation of the Group’s Executive Chairman, Ignacio Galán, and other company executives. During the meeting, shareholders gained first-hand insight into the key aspects of the transformation the Group has undergone over the last 25 years, during which it has become Europe’s leading electricity company and one of the two largest in the world by market capitalisation (€135 billion). They also received a detailed overview of the key figures in its Strategic Plan up to 2028 and the strong performance recorded in the 2025 financial year. Following the success of recent years, the Group has tripled the number of cities in which these meetings are taking place to reinforce its commitment to shareholder engagement and to fostering a close relationship with them based on active listening. The Shareholders’ Days have also been held in Madrid, Valencia, Zaragoza, Pamplona and San Sebastián, bringing together a total of over 2,000 shareholders. ‘125 Light Years’ Exhibition Attendees at the event were also able to view the ‘125 Light Years’ photography exhibition, which offers a visual journey through the company’s history and present. The initiative, which forms part of the programme of cultural and musical activities organised by the company to celebrate its centenary, arrives in Bilbao after visiting Valencia, Zaragoza, Pamplona, San Sebastián and Madrid. It thus arrives in the capital of Bizkaia with a special purpose: to pay tribute to the city where it was founded and to express gratitude for the role it has played in its growth over more than a century. Closer ties with shareholders and more incentives to participate The AGM will be held with the option of attending in person or remotely, and the company has made extensive facilities available to its shareholders to participate remotely prior to the meeting via the corporate website, the shareholder helpline, instant messaging, email and postal voting.
