The Spanish Women's National Team becomes the first Sustainable Squad thanks to Iberdrola
Iberdrola wishes to infect everyone with its commitment to sustainability wherever it operates and has decided to help in making the Spanish Women's Football Team the first Sustainable Squad.

Iberdrola developed in 2019 a program of sustainability awareness for the players of the Spanish Women's Football Squad, which shares values and principles on this subject in order to turn the players into theleading ambassadors of sustainability in sport.
The company was also committed to driving different initiatives, among which are:
- Foster sustainable mobility in sport,in line with Iberdrola's bid to and promote the use of electric vehicles in order to reduce CO2 emissions and combat climate change.
- Offset the carbon footprint created by Spain's Women's National Football Squadwith green energy.
- Supply green energy and install renewable energy solutions in sports facilities,to promote more energy sustainable installations.
- Promote alliances with the stakeholders involvedin sport to improve sustainability in other institutions.
The initiative was announced in May 2019 in the company of the members of the Spanish Women's Football Squad at the Maranchón wind farm — one of the largest in Europe —, which Iberdrola operates in the province of Guadalajara.
