28/04/2026 - 20:03 UTC +02:00Ignacio Galán and Imanol Pradales open the Iberdrola Collection exhibition to mark the company’s 125th anniversary Iberdrola’s Executive Chairman, Ignacio Galán , and the Lehendakari (Basque regional president), Imanol Pradales, today opened the exhibition ‘Parallels and Meridians’ at the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. Organised to mark the company’s 125th anniversary , the exhibition comprises more than a hundred representative works from the corporate art collection. The show coincides with the museum’s reopening following its extension and refurbishment and will run until 30 August. The opening ceremony was also attended by Ibone Bengoetxea, First Deputy President, Minister for Culture and Language Policy and President of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum Foundation; Amaia Arregi, acting Mayor of Bilbao and acting Vice-President of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum Foundation; Elixabete Etxanobe, Deputy General of Bizkaia and member of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum Foundation; Ana Otadui, President of the General Assembly of Bizkaia; and Miguel Zugaza, Director of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. With ‘Parallels and Meridians’, Iberdrola is reinforcing its commitment not only to art and culture but also to Bilbao, the city where it was founded in 1901 as Hidroeléctrica Ibérica. The exhibition offers a journey through the Iberdrola Collection, structured around two conceptual themes. The ‘parallels’ reflect a chronological arc, from the beginnings of artistic modernity in the Basque Country in the late 19th century, through the development of the avant-garde from the 1950s onwards, to the more global artistic languages of the 21st century. For their part, the “meridians” structure the major themes that underpin the collection, including light, nature, ingenuity and work. This is complemented by Iberdrola’s strong links to Bilbao, where it has maintained its registered office since its foundation 125 years ago. In this context, ‘Parallels and Meridians’ presents for the first time to the public two views of the city painted by Antonio López from Torre Iberdrola, which are still in progress. The artistic route extends through Doña Casilda Iturrizar Park – with 24 panels reviewing key moments in Iberdrola’s history and linking them to some of the most emblematic works in its collection – to the atrium of Torre Iberdrola, where nine works will be on display, several of them created specifically for this space. A celebration open to society as a whole ‘Parallels and Meridians’ forms part of the broad programme of activities that Iberdrola is rolling out throughout 2026 to mark its 125th anniversary. Under the slogan ‘125 light-years’, the company is promoting a nationwide calendar of initiatives including art and technology exhibitions, music festivals, social events and the illumination of landmark buildings. Through these initiatives, Iberdrola aims to share with its employees, customers, shareholders and society as a whole a success story shaped by innovation, its commitment to people and its contribution to economic and social development through electrification , as well as its vision and outlook for the future. The series began in Valencia and, following Zaragoza and San Sebastián, and will continue on 5 May in Pamplona, on 13 May in Madrid and on 26 May in Bilbao. Based on previous editions, Iberdrola expects total attendance to exceed 2,000 shareholders. As part of the company’s 125th anniversary celebrations, the Investor Relations team presented to shareholders in Aragon the key factors that have positioned Iberdrola as a global leader. The presentation highlighted the company’s transformation over the past 25 years, the main figures of its Strategic Plan through to 2028, and its strong performance in the 2025 financial year, in which Iberdrola once again recorded a record net profit of more than €6.2 billion. The Shareholders’ Days have become a well-established forum for direct dialogue, allowing participants to learn first-hand about the milestones shaping Iberdrola’s development, engage with the management team, take part remotely in the General Shareholders’ Meeting and receive the traditional commemorative gift. ‘125 Light Years’ Exhibition Attendees at the San Sebastián event were able to visit the ‘125 Light Years’ exhibition, launched to mark Iberdrola’s 125th anniversary. Through a series of photographs and videos, the exhibition showcases the company’s evolution, its innovative spirit and its close connection with society. The exhibition presents photographs from the company’s early years in the Basque Country, including historical images of Bilbao and the founding of Hidroeléctrica Ibérica in the early 20th century. It features iconic architecture, early electrical infrastructure, and original documents that trace the emergence of the business. It also showcases scenes of industrial development linked to electricity generation and supply, alongside the group’s evolution through to more recent milestones, such as the Torre Iberdrola, a landmark that symbolizes its long-standing presence and influence in the Basque Country. Strengthening shareholder engagement and participation The General Meeting will be held both in-person and remote participation options. The company has provided shareholders with extensive facilities to engage remotely in advance of the meeting via the corporate website, the shareholder helpline, instant messaging and postal voting. This simplifies and streamlines participation, while also enhancing security through the inclusion of a QR code and access code. Iberdrola continues to reinforce its open, accessible and sustainable General Meeting model, which includes ongoing dialogue channels such as the Shareholder Office, the Investor Relations Office and the Virtual Shareholder Assistant. As part of the agenda for the General Meeting, and in line with its commitment to shareholder remuneration, the Board of Directors will propose a supplementary dividend of €0.427 per share, in addition to the €0.253 per share already paid on 2 February as an interim dividend. Iberdrola will therefore allocate €4.5 billion to dividends for the 2025 financial year. 21/04/2026 - 09:24 UTC +02:00Iberdrola and Masdar set UK record for biggest blade install at East Anglia THREE offshore windfarm ScottishPower, subsidiary of Iberdrola in the UK , and Masdar’s East Anglia THREE offshore windfarm has set a UK offshore wind record with the installation of its first turbine – the first in the UK to feature 115 metre blades, each one longer than a Premier League football pitch. All 285 of the record-breaking blades for the project’s 95 turbines are being manufactured in the UK at Siemens Gamesa’s factory in Hull. Standing around 262 metres tall – higher than the observation deck at the Shard – the 14MW Siemens Gamesa turbines have a rotor diameter of 236 metres. A single revolution of just one turbine will produce enough electricity to power a UK home for more than four days, charge around 1,700 mobile phones, or brew nearly a thousand cups of tea. Charlie Jordan, ScottishPower Renewables CEO said: “This is a defining moment – and a UK industry first – for ScottishPower, Iberdrola and Masdar as we celebrate and accelerate the deployment of homegrown renewable energy at scale. “East Anglia THREE will be the biggest and most powerful offshore windfarm in our portfolio. That means billions of pounds invested in UK and global supply chains; thousands of jobs supported during construction; more than a hundred long-term roles created in the East of England; and greater energy security, with more clean power coming on to the grid than ever before. “This achievement is testament to successful collaboration with our strategic investment partner, Masdar, and the dedication and excellence of our own teams and supply chain partners. East Anglia THREE will play a crucial role in the UK’s clean energy future and it’s fantastic to see our vision come to life.” Located off the Suffolk coast in the UK, East Anglia THREE will be one of the world’s largest offshore windfarms when it comes into operation, delivering enough homegrown, clean electricity to power the equivalent of 1.3 million British homes. Husain Al Meer, Director of Global Offshore Wind at Masdar said: “This is a milestone moment for the UK’s offshore wind sector, with the completion of the first turbine for East Anglia THREE representing a truly monumental achievement. We are proud to work alongside ScottishPower and Iberdrola to bring this project to fruition and to be playing our part in securing the UK’s clean energy future, while helping to create jobs and drive sustainable growth. We see tremendous potential for offshore wind, not just in the UK but across the wider European market, where offshore wind can provide critical energy security, power economic progress and help nations achieve their clean energy objectives.” The blades used on the East Anglia THREE turbines are seven metres longer than the previous record of 108 metres – also manufactured by Siemens Gamesa. Darren Davidson, UK Head of Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa, said: “These are the biggest blades ever built for a project in UK waters – a real landmark for offshore wind. We’re proud that these record-breaking blades have been manufactured at our factory in Hull, where we now employ more than 1,400 people, and where we’re also investing in the future by training our next generation of workers through a well-established and successful apprenticeship scheme.” The turbine installation was executed by Cadeler’s O-class Wind Osprey jack-up vessel, which will be joined later this month by the next generation P-class Wind Pace on its first deployment in European waters as the installation programme continues. Mikkel Gleerup, Cadeler CEO said: “We are proud to support ScottishPower Renewables and Masdar on East Anglia THREE – our first project together and a strong starting point for future collaboration. “By deploying two of our vessels in parallel, we can maintain a consistent and efficient installation pace throughout the campaign. This also marks Wind Pace’s first project in European waters since her delivery last year. Built to install the next generation of turbines, she brings increased capacity and operational flexibility, enhancing installation efficiency and supporting a more streamlined programme. Together, this strengthens our ability to deliver safely, reliably and at scale.” READ MORE
