Commitment to decarbonising and electrifying the demand
Decarbonising and electrifying the demand play a crucial role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the targets set at the Conferences of the Parties (COPs) under the Paris Agreement. On the one hand, electrification, by promoting the transition to cleaner and more efficient energy sources, contributes directly to SDG 7, which seeks to ensure access to affordable, secure, sustainable and modern energy. By prioritising electricity from renewable sources, we reduce dependence on fossil fuels, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating climate change, key targets of SDG 13.
In the same way, decarbonisation, which aims to reduce carbon emissions and transition to low-carbon technologies, is imperative to meet the goals set at the COPs. These efforts not only contribute to SDG 13, but also have a positive impact on other related goals, such as health (SDG 3), responsible production and consumption (SDG 12) and building sustainable cities (SDG 11).
With the purpose of accompanying our customers in this transition by making them part of the change, we want to offer them smart and innovative solutions in both the residential and industrial areas. We do this through Clientes del Grupo - Iberdrola Clientes España, Iberdrola Energía Internacional, ScottishPower Retail Holdings, the commercialisation business of Neoenergia and Iberdrola Generación México, focused on service of retail and energy supply to end-users, as well as products and services focused on decarbonisation.

To do so, we offer them the most complete and innovative solutions in order to help them make the best decisions and make their day-to-day life easier. Thanks to our commitment to digitalisation and our investment in R&D&I, we offer a wide range of products and services that promote efficiency, energy saving and care for the environment, while placing the customer at the centre, providing them greater connectivity and decision-making capacity.
The solutions we offer our residential customers cover all their energy needs. For instance, we have Smart Mobility for electric mobility inside and outside the home; photovoltaic self-consumption for all types of customers, whether or not they have their own roof; Smart Clima offers Smart Solar, the heating and cooling solutions; and Smart Home to improve efficiency and energy savings.

Smart and innovative solutions for industrial customers
On the other hand, the service package for industrial customers in Spain includes green hydrogen obtained from renewable sources for use as raw material or fuel. Green hydrogen has become a key vector for industrial uses and sectors that are difficult to decarbonise (maritime transport, aviation, long-distance heavy vehicles and high-temperature industry). In line with this, at Iberdrola we have the largest green hydrogen plant for industrial use in Europe using 100% renewable electricity. We also offer solutions for the electrification of industrial processes through Industrial Heat and District Heating networks, as well as to our residential customers – Smart Mobility, Smart Solar and Smart Clima.
At Iberdrola we also have PPAs (Power Purchase Agreement), an agreement or contract for the long-term purchase and sale of clean energy at a previously agreed price between a renewable developer and a corporate consumer. This agreement is generally for companies that need large amounts of electricity, or between a developer and a marketer that will resell the energy. Consuming companies reduce their ecological footprint thanks to this type of agreements that allow the use of renewable energy in their facilities. Another relevant concept in this regard is ETaaS (Energy Transition as a Service) which, as its name suggests, refers to Energy Transition as a Service. We therefore offer a range of services, covering the entire life cycle of the decarbonisation process, to enable our commercial and industrial customers to meet their environmental objectives and become key players in the energy transition.

At Iberdrola Group, we offer all customers the best electricity and gas tariffs, along with different plans so they can choose the tariff that best suits their way of life, as well as online tools to maximise energy efficiency, simulating consumption and the most appropriate tariffs. Similarly, we also offer different apps so that customers can easily and conveniently manage everything related to their contracted products, such as, for example, checking the energy consumption of each appliance, obtaining live help, locating and reserving charging points for their electric vehicle or selecting the most convenient payment method according to each country, prioritising digital payments.
