How can we move from the energy transition to electrification? Climate change is a reality that calls for the adoption of new energy systems that are sustainable, self-sufficient and stable in every region. Ignacio Galán talks to Nicolai Tangen, CEO of Norges Bank Investment Management, in his podcast ‘In Good Company’ about his career, leadership and human talent at the Iberdrola Group, and about the challenges currently facing the global energy system.

Ignacio Galán Chairman of Iberdrola: The energy transition, key to achieving a sustainable future.

Only 25 % of the energy used in the world currently is electricity, and less than half of that electricity comes from renewable sources. Green production is advancing steadily, but its growth rate is slow when considering the consequences of increasingly evident climate change.

The concept that we need to promote renewable energy to achieve an electrified model is globally recognised, but it has not always been given the priority needed to drive it forward. That’s according to Ignacio Galán, the Executive Chairman of Iberdrola. Despite this, Iberdrola stands out for its ability to launch major projects that address the needs of each area in which it operates, thanks to careful planning and the continuous development of its human talent.
