The number of women who currently play sport or who closely follow sporting events is steadily increasing. This increase is a result of changes that took place in schools in the 1970s.
Noa Mateos is just a child, but she is highly focused: "Karate is my destiny." She dreams of being a professional athlete and, to get there, she plans to follow in the footsteps of her idol: Sandra Sánchez. The karateka, who struggled to make her way in the elite sports world, is this youngster's role model when it comes to hard work and perseverance. These values have made her the best karateka in the history of kata.

Sara Hurtado was one half of the first pair to represent Spain in ice skating at the Olympic Games. In 2018, she won a silver medal at the Rostelecom Cup Grand Prix event with her partner, Kirill Khaliavin, something that until then only Javier Fernández had achieved for our country. The seven-time Spanish champion has always had to live abroad due to the lack of coaches in her own country. Although she laments still not being able to make a living from skating, her efforts are made worthwhile by the fact that she is able to follow her dream.
